Pre-acceptance inspection: document before accepting.

Pre-acceptance is a formal step under the guarantee plan. It is used to review the work with the contractor and record incomplete, defective or corrective items before acceptance.

Role of the accompanying professional

  • Methodically observe accessible components.
  • Help the buyer describe findings precisely on the applicable form.
  • Distinguish cosmetic finishing from conditions that may affect operation, durability or safety.

The official form remains central

  • The contractor must provide the applicable pre-acceptance form. Work to complete or correct must be recorded and a completion date agreed upon. The inspection supports rather than replaces this process.

Common portions of a new co-ownership

  • Acceptance of common portions follows a different process and must be carried out by an authorized professional jointly with the contractor and syndicate. A private-unit inspection does not automatically cover this assignment.

Before the visit

  • Obtain plans, specifications, finish selections and agreed changes. Test components using normal controls, document observed items and retain a signed copy of the form.
